The Lago d'Antorno is perfectly positioned to enable you to contemplate in the distance, the mountain ranges that make our eyes marvellous! When I got to the lake, I was facing North. It was in a quick moment that I began to see the sunset rose colours appearing at my right in the sky.I looked, and I could no longer take my eyes off that view. The rose was also reflecting in the still waters of the lake. But it was not just the pink colours, it was also the yellow trees of autumn, and above it all, the mountains, imposing and authoritative, above the trees, which prevented me from taking my eyes out.I did not take them out, I turned around and the camera registered everything I saw and felt! To see the Cadini di Misurina (a mountainous group of Dolomites with peaks reaching the 2,839m altitude that climbers try to conquer) showing off their beauty on the lake, accompanied by this autumn environment was delicious!I hope you can feel what I felt!
As this little chapel seems to be really small, in deed, it is as big as it gets!Being surrounded by the beautiful pine trees it stays there every day stoicly! Not snow, sun, storms or other climate conditions seems to bother it!Because it is protected by the magnificent mountains behind!
Waking up early, picking up your gear, putting yourself on the road driving to get at another dreaming place! There, you watch the sun appearing slowly as it touches the top side of the magnificent mountain at the horizon in front of you!Now you are starting to feel it!The boats bringing you the peace that you want in your mind, putting away all the things that you don't want there! The trees showing you how nature is so amazing with its tones, making you think that you have a painting before your eyes! And if it wasn't enough, the water would be doubling everything up with a divine reflection leaving you standing up in total contemplation! That's what I call an easy morning and this is why I love landscape photography!
When you decide to travel to Italy, the Dolomites are not the destination that comes to the will of most people.Maybe this is why these mountains are so magical! This magic begins as soon as the road leaves its straight lines and in a glance, they begin to meander through ancient and majestic trees. That same magic is shown when you think you are on a field looking at the mountains, when in fact you are in the middle of them looking at authentical fingers coming out of that ground rising even higher!Suddenly it is night and a real storm arrives. Something so strong that it will pull trees from the ground turning this whole stage into a true Mikado game.It is still night when you wake up, with a more eased Mother Nature. You decide to go out to see what happened, because out there everything green, yellow and reddish became white. You start driving up the road, the car skates, it's ice you have under the wheels, it's snow you see around you!You keep going, you must be able to arrive in time to see the sun warming that white velvet cloak. And you have to do it in an epic location, in an idyllic place, on the largest plateau in Europe that rises almost 2000m in altitude! In the Alpe di Siusi! And it is when you arrive that you see that once there, you are facing something indescribable magical! If you already felt big for being so high, your heart would be filled by the sight of the horizon with authentic pink stone cliffs, that had once been under the sea, rising from the ground, and your soul would be warmed by the cosy wooden houses all over the plateau that snuggled you from the cold your body felt.
